About

Why the grey area?

When we can let go of black and white ways of being, we become more comfortable exploring the ambiguous grey areas.

This exploration can help you improve wellbeing, enhance relationships and enjoy a better outlook.

I am a warm, compassionate and skilled Clinical Psychologist dedicated to helping you find the grey areas

in the challenges you face. I create a safe and supportive space to explore and understand yourself,

and make lasting change to the issues that can get in the way of a rich and fulfilling life.

How I can help

Across more than 15 years of practice, I have come to appreciate the responsibility and privilege of being a Clinical Psychologist, where, each session I am invited to walk alongside, support and guide my patients towards their goals. I will work collaboratively with you and will integrate evidence-based practice with your specific needs to tailor an approach that is most likely to effect lasting change. I believe in thorough and regular assessment of your difficulties and ongoing communication with each other about how useful the therapy is.

Background

I completed my undergraduate Bachelor of Science (Psychology Honours) degree in Boston, USA, after which I worked in a treatment centre with individuals in recovery. I then completed my postgraduate clinical psychology studies (Doctorate of Clinical Psychology / Masters of Science) at the University of Sydney, and was further trained in addictions and recovery at a residential treatment facility for women. I was trained in Family Therapy and childhood anxiety disorders at the Children’s Hospital, Westmead and completed further training at a university Counselling Service, where I broadened my skills by supporting patients to manage a wide range of complex issues.

I enjoy work in both private practice and the public sector and uphold the highest standards of ethics and confidentiality in any work I perform. I am also a board-approved supervisor, and provide clinical supervision to both my peers, and to provisional psychologists completing their postgraduate studies in Clinical Psychology.
